About the course
This workshop focuses on building organizational capability to manage innovation within the context of digital and industrial transformation using structured frameworks and applied methodologies derived from Industry 4.0 best practices. The program explores how industrial organizations can evolve from traditional operating models to data driven, digitally integrated systems enabled by intelligent automation, cyber physical systems, and advanced analytics, while strengthening human machine collaboration in both decision making and execution. It also emphasizes how to design digital innovation portfolios, evaluate emerging technologies, and translate solutions such as artificial intelligence, Industrial IoT, and advanced analytics into scalable operational capabilities where people and intelligent systems work together to enhance productivity, decision quality, and organizational agility.

Ahmed Degnah Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from The University of Utah, the United States. His research is largely in the broad area of materials research, including physical/mechanical metallurgy and materials processing. Ahmed Degnah is a Associate Professor at the Advanced Materials Technologies Institute, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Saudi Arabia, and his current research projects:
Novel Powder Metallurgy Processing of Titanium Alloys; Computational Alloy Design and Processing of Concentrated Alloys (High-Entropy Alloys); Designing Novel Systems for High Temperature Materials; High Performance Structural Fibers for Advanced Composite Materials; and Ultralight Armor Material. Before his Ph.D., he completed his Masters in Materials Science and Engineering from Rutgers University, the United States, and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Umm Al Qura University, Saudi Arabia. His work experience was at the University of Utah, Saudi Aramco, and Stanford University.
